Some Pictures from SL10B

Finally able to take to big draw distance shots without waiting 4ever to rezz.

This view of the Spellbound music stage in the background is from Caro Fayray' build, "Once Upon a Time" a story of SL..

The pink spiral is a water slide which was tons of fun. It was one of the first things to try out weeks before the sims opened.

Awesome music stage at Spellbound - a terraformed turtle!

This is what I did (mostly) as a volunteer, Moderator; look for weapons, exposed genitles and other bad behavior. Is she naked? or among the unrezzed? Her feet and shoes give it away. Why do some people "unrez" in this skin tone and others in grey, is beyond me.

Interview with Second Life founder Philip Rosedale at Burn 2, June 2013

I'm sorry I missed this! I'm reposted to send it on. Thanks MC and Mia, I did get your messages, I was AFK :(   I'm looking forward to having a build at the Burn2 this year.

Leo's Digits - June 2013

Strawberry Singh posted another blogger challenge. It started with Berry thinking her arms were proportionately too short... Tyrannosaurus Rex Syndrome she called it. So, I had to do a comparison, especially because I never did a check looking for changes with mesh clothing. I know I have changed many parts of me due to mesh.

This is my ava, as I currently walk around most of the time.

This is the pic from the post in 2011.

I know I made trade offs with body fat vs. torso muscles and thickness. Most surprising is the torso length shrinking, AND the leg length increasing.

And, Berry, the arm length has not changed! I know there are all these references out there for proportions, from the SL stuff to Michelangelo's studies. I work at a high school, and part of the dress code rule is that skirts and shorts must be no shorter than at the fingertips when standing straight, which is usually a tad above most girl's mid-thighs. :)

The reason I change my body and keep tweaking it are illustrated below.

This is a "Medium" womens with my above current measurements.

Looks OK from the front, and fits over the hips of the mesh shorts. When I wore this, I had to reduce my torso muscles. I find that I save body shapes with outfits, but that can drive one crazy. I often have to add more "love handles" to fill in pants and skirts, etc. Usually I wear a small or extra-small, and here is a medium. If only RL offered the alter your shape option :)

Proportions Challenge Questions:

Do you try and keep your avatar’s body proportionate and similar to the “average” proportions pictured above? – No, haven't thought of it, I go by "eye".

What do you dislike the most about the SL avatar mesh? – Avatar mesh? like parts? I only use feet. Matching skin tones, especially when changing windlight settings, is the most difficult.

Does it bother you when you see other avatars that are not proportionate at all? –It doesn't "bother" me, but looking good is part of "the literacy". I don't get bothered by people's ignorance. I REALLY appreciate that people have tried to make their own shapes and not buy somebody elses', freebie or spent Ls on it. It is an expression of whom we want to be.

BUT there are occassions when I want to ask someone if they remembered to wear the alpha layer... LOL.

Even though this is a virtual world and people can be anything they want to be, do you feel when they are in human form, they should try to keep their proportions close to average?  -No, we can be whomever we want to be. If others do not have a sense of beauty or art, that's OK. I know many people in RL that are disproportionate, it doesn't bother me. I must say though, the huge prim boobs, teeny waists, and wide, long hips are comical... but that may be the point.

SL10B - Yes, Here is a Creature Born of Free Will

I'm in awe of it's awesomeness, SL10B is massive, way too much to see in one visit. As a volunteer, I have been wandering around getting to know the lay of the land for a couple weeks now, but it is impossible to not notice something different every time I TP in. I'm glad to be part of this!

The best way to get around is to hop in one of the pods. A tour is given in chat, it's hard not to leap out of the car quite often and have a walk aound.

Tan Lines

I went to check out the new TDR and found this wonderful tan skin from YS&YS. There's many options including brow color, tan lines, teeth and cleavage. I remember the days of getting this brown after a week at the beach. Nowadays I'm so much more cautious.

I also picked up some new lipstick there from Mons. The bikini is an oldie from :.WoW.:

Yes, Island in the Sun:)))

Saturday Morning Shopping for COLOR

Hey! It's My Rez Day :)    So I went shopping, of course.

I love fractals! I have them all over my house. Today I found this silk blousy tunic is a wonderfully colorful fractal print. I was pointed in the direction by the 60L Weekends Deal list. It's from Spyrall Fractal Art -Wearables. It has cute side ties, and a good fit, but I had to adjust my shape some.

Also, a colorful find were these hot open toe pumps with color change hud for all the parts :)) They were still available this morning from Fifty Five Fridays deals at Liv-Glam. I love the options, although I had some difficulty with the color matching and making them fit and blend into my skin.

I want clothes to wear and go dancing, exploring,   .and sitting around with friends in SL, so just photoshopping away these imperfections is not an option for me.

Love, love, love, color.

I miss the "Tribute Bands" that once abounded in SL. Here's U2 in SL,  It's a Beautiful Day.

So Easy Being Green, It's Officially Summer

This weekend, gives us in the US, the officially start of summer. I'm doing my happy dance because I will be away from work (mostly) for 2 months! Only a couple more weeks until then :))

I am loving my greens. In RL my garden is awesome, I've been working on the landscape for a few years, and it's at its peak right now.

My greens in SL? Check out my eyes :) latest freebie from Poetic Colors called Rain Tree.

I'm also trying out this new Atena skin from "YS and YS"  at TDR. I LOVE some elements:))))  Also some newness is my "Sydney" skirt, from elymode. The Irenne sandals were a recent freebie from Energie for Cynful's  birthday. My hair is "Ashbury" from Analog Dog. (I wish SL and/or designers make some easy way to search one's inventory). This is the last LM I have for AD. I LOVE the mesh and flexi mix, please make more straight hair designs ::)

I'm wearing additional freckles, eyeliner, and eyebrows from long ago.Tank is an oldie but goodie from Boom. The bikini another old fav from Shiki, Blue Plumeria. My necklace was an old gift from EmCee Widget at a Burning Man 2 event. Enjoy your inventory:)))))))))

The latest is not always the greatest, and one's personal, creative touch is what makes SL the great community it is, and always has been.
