Great Almost Freebie Emerald Dress From Meghindo

I found this great $10L short beaded dress. No, it's not mesh. It fits perfectly. Shear shoulder prims and skirt, pieces are in all layers:) It comes with a knee-length skirt as well. I wore it with a long black mermaid skirt for a formal affair this past weekend and it was gorgeous. It is my favorite color, really not emerald but Paraiba Topaz. I have not known Meghino before, but I think I'll be shopping there for my next gown:)

Burn2 - Burning Man in Second Life Coming October 20

It's been months since I made a blog post. RL takes over sometimes. Recently I was asked to be part of the building team at Burn2 for the Temple. Here are some shots of a work in progress. I am in charge of the interior.

The slow-spin lanterns have switchable lights, rolling fractal textures and the tassels move in the wind. The lantern will be available as a freebie in the swag tent.

Cya on The Playa!

Still Not Enmeshed in Mesh - the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

The Good

I just cannot get on this mesh bandwagon with any measure of enthusiasm. Sure, it makes great pictures, and has great textures. I LOVE several of the mesh boots that I own, the textures are gorgeous! The fashion bloggers have got an addiction for it. Lately it seems one might as well show up in prim heels with bling as to wear no mesh to any event with a crowd of SL literate avatars. This is the BEST mesh dress I have tried on with an avatar that is not a wiry coat hanger. It's the 50 Linden Friday offer from Tee*Fly. I'm wearing a size medium.

Yes it does appear to flow over my body :)

The Bad

I've had to drastically alter my body. I have become almost anorexic looking. Strawberry Singh has started another "post your digits" discussion on her blog. She says, "I am just looking to get into a discussion about mesh and how it has affected our behavior towards our avatar’s shape."

Need to eat!

I'm going to try some of Strawberry's body sliders, as mine are far more on the skinny side in order to fit into this mesh dress. The few other mesh clothes I own, still do not work with this body, I have to get as thin as possible in some areas, even to wear a medium. I am still very attached to my Phoenix viewer which does not allow more than 1 alpha layer. On the Phoenix "issues" wiki, this is a low priority item. Wearing the alpha mask has issues in itself, if you peek over into a top wearing an alpha top, you're the invisible woman.

Well, here are my digits in this outfit:
height - 60
body thickness - 6
Body fat - 7
Torso muscle - 44
Shoulders - 50
Breast - 53
Love handles - 25
Belly - 0
Leg muscles - 35
Hips - 52
Butt size - 37
Saddle bags - 22

My previous digits are posted here.

The Ugly

In the pictures below, there are still gaps when movement occurs. Sigh.... still scary to wear out dancing.

Gasps, " Gaps!"

Hopefully, fixes for my issues will occur in the near future and I will be a happy shopper once again.

SL9B Party is in Full Swing (and Lag)

:( I have not been able to participate. Currently I'm on RL vacation and with limited access time, (I am on vacation) I can tether my laptop via my phone, but not for long at the SL9B. Hopefully traffic will die down and I can be a Greeter later this week. Like at Walmart, Greeters can offer you a cart, just ask, and you can receive this teleporter board and/or a similar hud. The board can help you choose what sims are not jammed, to get a less crowded landing point. Happy partying, the birthday cake is 4 sims big!

SL9B Coming Soon

I volunteered as a Greeter to the event this year, and got to get a sneak preview to explore and learn my way around. There are quite a few really awesome exhibits, although I am sorry to say that Burn2 is not there. We will be having a party on the Playa, too. Here are some pics.

I was very impressed with Ginger Lorakeet's exhibit of Immersive Photos, they will make some great backgrounds for fashion.

Because my blog is syndicated, here are some fashion links:

my definition of virtual self-identity

Well here I am.

What does this avatar mean to the world and mean to me? Am I "Echo" or am I "Narcissus"?

I am neither.

My self as depicted here in the world I love (SL), is a slurry of my physical being at its best and my freed inner self. I am a painting of myself. I am the things that I think are the best of me. I am a resume of my "self"

I am not "other" than myself, but whom I am on my best hair days and the days I am most glib with words. I am comfortable and love how my avatar mirrors my inner self. My values, beliefs, and other things of importance to me are always a part of the self I hope to project to others.

my 2 cents

Spring Day in a Mountain Meadow

It's the Sound of Sunshine Coming Down

I was taking some pics of my mountain meadow and my new hair from Exile when Michael Fanti's "The Sound of Sunshine" comes on the stream. It really adds to the feeling of spring, I wish I could get out in the sunshine, but just had a procedure done to my knee and have to be idle a few days.. what a way to spend spring break :(        I prefer the word idyllic.

I'm really loving this hair, I often wear my RL hair like this, ............... maybe a little less poof. Yesterday, I took all the snow off the meadow, I had been receding it over a few weeks, and spent several hours putting grasses and flowers in. The deer seem pleased with the change, too. Also Bunny reappeared, I guess he was hopping around under the snow all this time, or perhaps down a rabbit hole.

yeah, a little less poof...
