Sneak Peek at The Kiva - BURN2

BURN2 Opens October 1

Here I am waiting in a deck chair in front of my build/camp, The Kiva. I still have some tweaking to do, but worked on a gift this morning for the Schwag Department, tent of gifts. Beware - Schwag does rhyme with lag. My FireFlower bracelet has animated textures.

My camp does have a huge couch which anyone can crash out on. Syn and I enjoy the fire on my version of a big blue couch.

It's exciting to watch the building and tweaking going on for Burn2. My couch includes some jumping animations, so appropriate for my camp address, Kindergarten and 7:30!    cya on the Playa!

My Digits

I thought that I would add my digits. I find it interesting how different people idealize/exaggerate one body feature over another. It is what the ancient Romans discovered when they began to make their idealized sculptures of the human body. They discovered mathematical formulas for proportions of the human body that do not really exist, even in the fittest of individuals. But, they are pleasing to the eye.

It is especially intriguing in light of (the far too many) women who have a poor body image in RL. There are so many avatars with impossibly small waists, and distorted hips and butts, or boobs that could only be achieved if the entire body was 200x overweight. I've also seen quite a few avatars that are incredibly skinny. We do know from research on people's experience with their avatars in virtual worlds that many people become strongly attached and identify with their avatars. So, I wonder if there are, and if so, what are the effects of living a virtual life in an unrealistic body?

What NOT to Wear at Burning Man 2

High ARC stuff. I wanted to get some shots in a foggy atmosphere. It's 2AM SLT and on one of the Burn2 sims, inside Bryn Ohs! wondrous build again. The secret to getting in..... take a pill to get u small? there's a white rabbit here, I believe, to help you. ARCing at over 18K, not be attempted when most of the world is awake.

Ahhhhh... an example of the stuff in my head.

My summer break will soon be be over, and I did get to create tons of stuff, both in RL an SL. My RL class in copper expanded my views on that metal and it's lovely hues. Love the warmth from fire patinas.

Along those same lines, I worked on my Burning Life Ranger Gift (now BurningMan 2.0). I am very pleased, gotta look close for the metro (skyline) textures.

 This is titiled "DesertFire" and a free gift at the Ranger Station, on the Playa.

Can't wait for the fire.

I will be posting some new SL jewelry on Xstreet in the next couple weeks.

Snuck into the Not Yet Open Sky Addition to the Nemo Sim - House of Mirrors

I think this is done by rolling textures on the "mirrors". Never can I get my reflection, nor an up and down, but amazingly cleaver. Kudos to the creator, Sextan Shepard, utterly awesome! I spent a couple hours at this sim, and I WILL go back to Nemo and tip. 

This I suppose is about my 3rd life, jewelry artist. These are the things I made at William Holland School of Lapidary Art in Georgia, 6/29/08.
