Sneak Peek at The Kiva - BURN2

BURN2 Opens October 1

Here I am waiting in a deck chair in front of my build/camp, The Kiva. I still have some tweaking to do, but worked on a gift this morning for the Schwag Department, tent of gifts. Beware - Schwag does rhyme with lag. My FireFlower bracelet has animated textures.

My camp does have a huge couch which anyone can crash out on. Syn and I enjoy the fire on my version of a big blue couch.

It's exciting to watch the building and tweaking going on for Burn2. My couch includes some jumping animations, so appropriate for my camp address, Kindergarten and 7:30!    cya on the Playa!

Stranger and Stranger

Yes, Mahalo, I am wearing a black barrel and my middle is missing. (still wearing my tutu and ruffle from a previous outfit) Trying on a demo mesh dress from Koko demonstrates that my home region does not support mesh. Oh well :,(

“"If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” (Alice, from Alice in Wonderland)

shoes - Koko (group gift)
tutu - gift on the playa from the soon to open Burn2
ruffle - from Sweeter than Candy bubblegum 25L dress machine
hair - Truth
Mahalo (my cat) - Zooby

Waiting for the Sims at Burn2 to Open

This is not a fashion post. I finished my camp build and have been waiting for the plots to open. Now a week late, organizers blame LL. This is my first build and my 3rd year Rangering. CYA on the Playa, 1st week in October!

Happy 4th of July - gift from Felicity

Well taking a break in RL, was painting baseboards. Wish I was drinking mimosas on the beach! Oh well! These cute shoes are a group gift from Felicity. The stripe bikini is an old freebie from A-Bomb. Hair by Tructh, skin Curio.

Truth Aces the Long Hair

LOOK how well this lays on the shoulders. Hardly any annoying poke thru the body pieces. AND I can dance W/O playing "peek-a-boo with da boobs"! U know what I mean.

Best secondary hair attachment I've seen.

Proposition - Wear Your Tiara to Work Day

The royal wedding, the last of fairly tales? Maybe we can all mark this day, April 29th, officially as, "Wear Your Tiara to Work Day". We would then know who the princesses are and can act accordingly. Life would be so much easier if they were clearly tagged.

...Or use the day to demand that others fall on their knees.

 LOL

Fairy! is that a Freudian slip?

We Are ALL Rock Stars

Some took the invitation literally.

It was a rocking night! Complete with paparazzi there!

Here we are, I'm Deborah Harry, and my man is Jon Bon.

Happy 8th REZ Day, Nyna!  .... AKA Lady Gaga for the night.

My Digits

I thought that I would add my digits. I find it interesting how different people idealize/exaggerate one body feature over another. It is what the ancient Romans discovered when they began to make their idealized sculptures of the human body. They discovered mathematical formulas for proportions of the human body that do not really exist, even in the fittest of individuals. But, they are pleasing to the eye.

It is especially intriguing in light of (the far too many) women who have a poor body image in RL. There are so many avatars with impossibly small waists, and distorted hips and butts, or boobs that could only be achieved if the entire body was 200x overweight. I've also seen quite a few avatars that are incredibly skinny. We do know from research on people's experience with their avatars in virtual worlds that many people become strongly attached and identify with their avatars. So, I wonder if there are, and if so, what are the effects of living a virtual life in an unrealistic body?
