)'( The Man Stood This Week )'(

It was a very busy week on the Playa. There were many changes and new things each day.

Pygar Bu and his team have done an amazing job on The Man this year. It's such an intricate build and there are plenty of pathways to wander through.

Here's the state of my art build at the beginning of the week. I worked on setting more of the theme out, and giving the space a sense of enclosure and intimacy.  I really wish I was listed as one of the art builds on the burn2 blog page. There's tons of stuff to manage, and the volunteers are doing an amazing job of organizing and running things, I understand errors can be made. I'll send some emails later about the oversight...

Props that depict radical self-reliance were added to my build this week. Solar energy, recycled and filtered shower water, huge jugs of water, and a campfire with never ending coffee were some of the newly built features. RickerR wrote an original poem about John Frum which is in the book on the crate.

Another build I especially like is the live music stage. I can't wait to hear some of my favorite acoustic musicians.

I also got last weekend my smaller plot. The one I bought with the original sales months ago. The idea is a cornfield where this seemingly prehistoric monolithe circle appears. Archeologists are sent in, and one can search for meaning and a prize. It's more likely you will find the latter.

I hope I did not reveal too much before the official  Press Day of October 17, just enough hopefully to keep up the excitement, :)))

My Build for Burn2, 2013; "Where Are You From? What Gifts Do You Bring?"

Two more weeks and the virtual Playa opens for Second Life's Regional Burn, dubbed Burn2.

Look! who I have handing out gifts! Flat Rodvic Linden. Thank-you Strawberry for the cut-out of our leader:)))

Yes, those are my legs dangling into the space ship.

LOVE THIS MEME, from Strawberry... "Flat Rodvic Linden"

This meme is from Strawberry Singh, and I have been giggling since I first read the challenge. I loved the Flat Stanley Projects, in fact had students take part in creating them several years ago. And what a way to send a message to Rod! I can't wait to see some of the responses. This will be

First I took Rod to my usual favorite club in SL, Alt7. I've been going here for over 6 years. The club is undergoing some transformations; some of the long standing DJs are taking sabbaticals and the decor is trying to have an over haul. I hope that things get more on track. Currently it is a mish-mash of several people's furniture and textures that blur, the lighting all wrong, BUT the music and friendly banter are still there. It is being worked on, so if you visit, we are all holding out hope for some refinement.

The next place I wanted to take Rod was my home,  a Homestead Sim I have had for over 4 years. As a homestead I am at the mercy of the owner of the full sim to which this is a part. I am now under a second owner of the group of sims. I love my home and although many people think I am silly for this expensive hobby (95 US dollars a month), for the amount of time I spend making things and learning it is far cheaper than playing golf, collecting some things, etc. I have no commercial aspirations in SL. So my message to Rodvic would be to allow individual ownership of Homesteads and not have to have them attached to a full sim or their owner.

So.. I could stand "Flat Rod" somewhere, let him get to know and like my place... let's see here..

He matches my sinks, although I don't think I want him here.

Taking some mirror shots... why won't they smile?
