LOTD Summer Shopping Finds - Collabor88 and The Arcade

Summer time and the livin' is easy..... or so it goes. I love messy up-dos, and this one from Exile - Full of Grace at Collabor88 is really quite nice. 

 Perfect for the beach and relaxed times outdoors. I'm finally off for a couple months of summer break, treating myself to SL shopping and building around my sim:) happy days!

Below are the astonishingly, beautifully detailed shoes from Ingenue at The Arcade Gotchas. I was lucky and got the cherry gingham on the 1st try!

LOTD 60L Summer Halter Dress

Here's a really nice summer dress from Look*Me in this week's 60L Weekends. None of the things I EVER blog about are given to me from designers. I love to shop and I love bargains. I mostly blog the fashion things I buy in order to have a catalogue of the stuff I like. I am thinking I need to do this more as my inventory continues to hover over 80K, despite purging periodically. Yes, I use folders and boxes, and descriptive labels with dates, but a picture is worth thousands of words.

This is my den/computer corner of my house:) My desk surrounds me with some of my most treasured photos and memorabilia. My cats perch here, as well. I love all that I created in my house and on my sim; glass stairs, lots of modern windows, views and sight-lines carefully planned and color! The house has been continuously evolving over the past 7 years. Like my RL home, I want clean modern lines, but with a homyness quality that does not require "shabby chic" textures and items. This is my island home in the sun:)

This is the "Gary Dress" from Look*Me , and here's a few of the textures from the HUD. I paired it with one of my favorite casual shoes, Lorna, from Baby Monkey, also with a HUD for a great color selection.

LOTD Secret 60L Find

I thought this was rather interesting AND pretty. This is 2 mesh layers. The crochet or fishnet part is worn over the heart key-hole neckline dress. The effect is rather nice and a bit unusual, gives the dress some almost touchable texture. Dress is 60L, titled, "She's a Catch" by Sej at the Broken Glass Boutique.

I tried some twisting poses, and really no noticable poking through of the lower layer.

Nice effect:), but doesn't capture well in my photos.

LOTD - New Stuff From LouLou&Co at Rhapsody and Baby Monkey

I went to the event fashion mall, Rhapsody and found this cute sun dress, from LouLou&Co. Rhapsody is set up in small areas themed to a music genre.  It is a well set up event and lag is low.

 What I like best about the dress, Veruschka, is that it has a HUD with 15 fabric choices and 15 belt choices. I only had to adjust my avatar a little to have no gaps on the bodice.

The other new find are these cute wood heeled sandals, Lorna, from Baby Monkey. They also have a color change HUD with tons of choices. When they came out last week, they were 1/2 price to members. I'm not sure if they are still discounted.

They are for only Slink Feet, which I finally bought. I am rather ambivalent about one maker of avatar attachments being the only one that designers are making an item to fit. I finally acquiesced after Jessica Lyon's talk at the SL11B event, in reference to Linden Lab working on a different viewer. We need to continue to buy, make things and participate in SL as a community. It will be years before the new viewer, and SL may go on long after that. Meanwhile, I'll enjoy my new mesh items. I'm sure a year from now, these will be in a box in my inventory. But they will be here on my blog hopefully forever:)

Just My LOTD

I'm still enjoying fall in SL. It's too early to put out the snow, but I have been shopping:) It's still 80 degrees for me in RL. This is my LOTD, sweater dress from SLC, sweet and feminine and goes so well with the Baby Monkey leggings and boots.
